How have you adapted your operations to continue to provide vital food services to your community, particularly the elderly and vulnerable? Have you worked with other members of your community to provide a support network for example? What sort of meals have you provided, how have you funded that and what sort of feedback have your received?

A pub that has supported the NHS and other front line workers in a variety of ways. Examples could be fundraising, providing meals, teas and coffees for those on the front line. Have any of your staff volunteered for the NHS?

A pub that has gone above and beyond to look after their teams. How have you supported your teams if they are feeling vulnerable? Do you have any members of staff that have had to shield? How have you supported them? How have you kept your teams in the loop with what is going on in the pub and make them feel motivated in returning to their jobs? What sort of encouragement have you been able to give?

Supporting the community’s mental health. This is for a pub that has worked hard to keep its community connected and talking. Perhaps hosting meetings using technology, promoting support services. 

Working to help protect and engage with vulnerable and elderly customers, engaging with outside agencies and ensuring people are being looked after.

A pub that’s found innovative ways to continue to deliver its services during the lockdown. Have your converted your restaurant into a take away? How are you still managing to serve drinks during the pandemic? Are you working with any third parties, such as food trucks to continue to offer a service?

A pub that’s pivoted to provide vital suppliers to it’s local community. Have you converted your bar into a shop/post office during the pandemic? What sort of services have you been able to offer? Are you selling just food and drink or are you selling other products such as cleaning products, plants, newspapers, magazines and other everyday items?

A pub that has raised money for charity despite lockdown. What initiatives have you completed to raise money and who for? How successful have you been? How did you market your schemes and did you offer any prizes for donations?

A pub that has continued to provide vital entertainment to its community - pub quizzes, concerts etc. What sort of entertainment have you been able to offer? What sort of technology did your efforts require? What sort of platform did you use, ie Zoom, Houseparty etc etc. What sort of marketing did you have to do to get attendance and were all your initiatives free of charge?

A pub that has provided a room for somebody in need. What sort of accommodation have you been able to provide? Who was this for – eg homeless, NHS staff etc? Has this been long or short term? How have you managed that service in a lockdown environment and what has it meant to your guests?
