Supporting Best Gastropub 2010
Once again Budweiser Budvar is sponsoring the annual hunt for the Great British Pub Awards' top gastropub
2010 will be the fourth year that Budweiser Budvar has sponsored the gastropub category in the Great British Pub Awards. During this time we have become versed in sponsor etiquette and that includes not dilating upon the unique qualities of our beers. Anyway most savvy people know that every drop of Budvar is brewed only at our own brewery in Southern Bohemia in a 100 day natural brewing cycle, using only local natural ingredients and our own spring water with wow-factor to produce the ultimate lager conditioned beers.
We also know when addressing gastropub people, that it is vulgar in the extreme to emphasise the almost unlimited food matching opportunities that Budvar Dark or Original offer. Aficionados of dishes as diverse as tapas, fish, chicken, ribs or Jamaican jerk already know that their enjoyment with these beers enhances the taste and sensory experience ten-fold.
Actually much as we love gastropubs and appreciate the way they are adding a new strand of dynamism to the pub business, that we are delighted to encourage with our sponsorship, we believe in the Great British Pub Awards so much that we would take almost any category the MA suggested to us - the best gastropod award for instance? Watch out for the Budvar Golden Mollusc in 2011.

Supporting Best Cask Beer Pub 2010
Abbot Ale Seal of Excellence
Abbot Ale is delighted to sponsor the prestigious Cask Ale Pub of the Year Award. This award recognises licensees who understand the value of cask beer to their pub and who put this unique drink at the heart of their offer.
Now, more than ever, licensees need to give their customers a truly first class pub experience. Cask ale gives drinkers something that they just can't get at home and is proven to draw people into a pub and keep them coming back for more.
Abbot Ale is the ultimate in English brewing. An irresistible ale with masses of fruit characters, a malty richness and superb hop balance. It is brewed longer to a unique recipe which makes it the full flavoured, smooth and mature beer it is today.
Abbot, as with all cask ales, relies on the skill of licensees to complete the brewing process and treat drinkers to the perfect pint everytime. Thank you to those who have the passion and dedication to cask ale and good luck to all the entrants this year.

Supporting Best Entertainment Pub 2010
Transform your pub with a licence to screen films
Filmbank Distributors represent Hollywood and independent film studios in the area of legally licensing film screening in the hospitality sector across the UK, including all pubs, bars, clubs and restaurants. Owned by Warner Bros. and Pictures, other represented studios include 20th Century Fox, Disney, Universal, MGM, Dreamworks, Paramount and Pathé.
Filmbank offer 2 different screening licences to suit the individual needs of pubs and bars. The PVSL (Public Video Screening Licence) is an annual licence permitting unlimited screenings using legitimate bought or rented copies of films to a non-paying audience. Pricing depends on football and starts at £81 + VAT per year. This licence is perfect for premises wishing to host regular film clubs or use film in the background to create ambience.
The STSL (Single Title Screening Licence) is issued on a title by title by basis and permits holders to charge an entry fee for the screening. This licence is ideal for themed events and meals deals.
Screen films prior to DVD and Pay TV release
With the STSL many films are available only 10-12 weeks after cinema release meaning your pub or bar could host it's very own première style event. Filmbank are proud to be sponsoring the Best Entertainment Pub category as we feel that it is these creative individuals and premises who offer real added value to their customers through events such as film screenings, that will really mean the industry will attract new customer groups and drive footfall through the doors.
